  2. user: any person who downloads and accesses the mobile app on their device.
  3. mobile app: the MHCA 2017 mobile application which may be downloaded on any android or iOS device and includes any content, information or features on the mobile app for benefit of the users.
  4. device: any electronic device which can be used to download the mobile app.
  5. authorised person: any authorised individual who will be able to process any data collected for purposes mentioned here.

2. Personal data that you provide to us

Only your name and email address will be collected by us. Providing this personal information is optional and not compulsory. This data shall be used only for purposes of notifying you about any information, updates, details regarding the implementation of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017; updates, changes or notifications regarding the MHCA 2017 app; or any information or details about events, training workshops or resources on the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017. Personal data related to saved application templates, checklists and bookmarks shall be stored only on your mobile device. This data is never sent to our or any other server.

3. Information automatically collected about you

This includes information that is automatically stored by cookies and other session tools. For example, your IP address, mobile device ID, etc. We don't collect any such data about you or your device.

4. How will your personal data be processed and used

Your personal data will used solely for reaching out to notify you about any information, updates, details regarding the implementation of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017; updates, changes or notifications regarding the MHCA 2017 app; or any information or details about events, training workshops or resources on the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017. All personal data shall be encrypted and stored in a secure database which shall be accessed only by the authorised person for purposes mentioned in this privacy policy. If you withdraw consent at any point, your personal data will not be processed any further and shall be deleted from our records.

5. Who else can access your Personal Data

Your personal data will not be shared with any third parties and shall be kept confidential at all times.

Your personal data shall be kept safe and secure. We use safe protocols for encrypting any personal data collected or stored on the mobile app's server. However, data breaches are a sad reality of all digital data storage. We'll notify suitable authorities of any and all data breaches, if they occur. We will also notify you if there is a threat to your rights or interests. We will do everything we reasonably can to prevent security breaches and to assist authorities should any breaches occur.

7. Cookies and other technologies we use

We don't use cookies and/or similar technologies to analyse user behaviour, administer the mobile app and track users' movements. We might, at a later date, collect anonymous statistical data about how the app is being used. You will be notified when this happens. This will be done in order to help us further develop or improve the app. Any information carried out for this purpose shall be anonymised and will not be personally identifiable.

8. Retention of Personal Data & Usage Information

Personal data collected for purposes mentioned herein and usage information collected for internal analysis purposes shall be retained for as long as may be required.

9. Rights of users

Users have a right to

  1. know how their personal data is processed and who is processing their personal data
  2. request rectification or update of their personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  3. withdraw consent for processing data and request for their personal data to be erased from our records.
